Aims & Scope

Aims

Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan IPA aspires to be a leading platform for sharing innovative research in science education, physics education, chemistry education and biology education. The journal is dedicated to publishing high-quality research, including empirical studies, theoretical analyses, and research & development projects. These studies should contribute significantly to the improvement of science education at various levels, from secondary to higher education, and in both pre-service and in-service teacher training. JIPI covers a wide range of topics, including curriculum development, teaching strategies, approach and learning model, instructional materials, e-learning, virtual laboratory, local wisdom in education, assessment, and evaluation. The journal aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice by providing data-driven insights and practical pedagogical frameworks. JIPI welcomes submissions from researchers worldwide, particularly those that offer innovative solutions to enhance science education practices, policies, and pedagogy.

Scope

Jurnal Inovasi Pendidikan IPA has a clear focus on publishing significant research findings related to the teaching and learning of natural sciences—specifically, biology, physics, and chemistry education. The journal is particularly interested in research that addresses educational practices and innovations at the secondary and higher education levels, and pre-service as well as in-service teacher professional development in these subject areas. Topics of interest include curriculum development, teaching strategies, approach and learning model, instructional materials, e-learning, virtual laboratory, local wisdom in education, assessment, and evaluation. JIPI prioritizes research that makes a meaningful contribution to the current body of knowledge and theory in science education, with a strong emphasis on research that incorporates local wisdom and addresses the unique educational challenges faced by different regions. Methodologically, the journal accepts quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies, provided they present rigorous analysis and contribute to the field.

Specific types of articles sought by JIPI include:

  • Empirical research that provides theoretical insights and analyzes substantial amounts of data.
  • Critical or comparative studies of educational policies at national or international levels, focusing on their impact on science education.
  • Systematic literature reviews that offer new theoretical, empirical, or conceptual perspectives in science education.
  • Meta-analyses that synthesize the findings of multiple quantitative studies to generate new insights.
  • Research and development studies that present innovative educational products or approaches designed to improve the teaching and learning of science.

By focusing on these specific areas, JIPI establishes itself as a specialized journal with a clear identity, catering to the scholarly needs of the science education community and contributing to the development of effective teaching practices globally.
