Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan: (1) motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen, (2) motivasi belajar siswa pada kelas kontrol, (3) tingkat pencapaian kompetensi pada kelas eksperimen, (4) tingkat pencapaian kompetensi pada kelas control, (5) pendapat siswa tentang penggunaan model DI berbantuan multimedia, (6) pengaruh model DI berbantuan multimedia terhadap motivasi belajar siswa, dan (7) pengaruh model DI berbantuan multimedia terhadap pencapaian kompetensi pembuatan desain busana. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian quasi experimental designs. Populasi penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X program keahlian tata busana SMK N 9 Surakarta dan SMK N 1 karanganyar, teknik sampling purposive. Data diperoleh dengan: (1) tes tertulis, (2) tes perbuatan, dan (3) angket, untuk mengumpulkan data motivasi belajar siswa, aspek afektif, dan pendapat siswa tentang penggunaan model DI berbantuan multimedia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) motivai belajar kelas eksperimen masuk kriteria sangat tinggi 71%; (2) motivai belajar kelas kontrol masuk kriteria sangat tinggi 28% ; (3) pencapaian kompetensi kelas eksperimen kategori tuntas 84%; (4) pencapaian kompetensi kelas kontrol kategori tuntas sebanyak 33%; (5) pendapat peserta didik tentang penerapan model DI menunjukkan bahwa 27 siswa (87%) pada kategori sangat senang; (6) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model DI terhadap motivasi belajar antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t (t-test) dengan t hitung 0,000 < t tabel 0,05; (7) terdapat pengaruh penerapan model DI terhadap pencapaian kompetensi pembuatan desain busana antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol, yang dibuktikan dengan hasil perhitungan uji t (t-test) dengan t hitung 0,000 < t tabel 0,05.

THE EFFECT OF MULTIMEDIA-AIDED DIRECT INSTRUCTION ON THE LEARNING MOTIVATION FOR ACHIEVEMENT IN THE COMPETENCE IN MAKING FASHION DESIGN

Abstract

This study aims to investigate (1) learning motivation of student in experiment class; (2) learning motivation of student in control class; (3) the level of achievement in the competence of experiment class; (4) the level of achievement in the competence of control class; (5) the student's opinion about the use of multimedia-aided direct Instruction (MADI) in the manufacture of fashion design in vocational high schools (VHS); (6) the effect of MADI on the learning motivation of students; and (7) the effect MADI on the achievement in the competence of making fashion design. The study was a quasi experimenal. The population of research was the 10th graders of dressmaking skill program of SMK N 9 Surakarta and SMK N 1 Karanganyar. The research sample was established using the porpusive sample technique. The reseach instruments included: (1) a test; (2) observation sheet; (2) a questionnaire to collect the data on students' learning motivation, affective aspect, and the opinion of students on the application of MADI. The result of the study show that: (1) the learning motivation 71% in the experimental class is very high; (2) the learning motivation 28% in the control class is very high; (3) the competence achievement of 84% in the experimental class is in the completion category; (4) ) the competence achievement of 33 % in the control class is in the completion category; (5) the opinion of students on the application of MADI shows that 27 students (87%) are very happy; (6) there is an effect of the application of MADI on motivation to learn the making of fashion design of the students in the experimental and control classes, as shown by the results of the calculation of the t test ( t-test ) with 0.000 t < t table 0.05 and this it can be concluded that the Ho is rejected and is accepted; (7) there is an effect of the application MADI on the achievement of competence in making fashion design of the students in the experimental and control classes, as shown by the results of the calculation of the t test (t - test) with 0.000 t < t table 0.05 , and this it can be concluded that the Ho is rejected and is accepted;
