Aims & Scope

AIMS

The principal concern of “Jurnal Civics: Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan” is to review and chronicle major developments in citizenship studies that are likely to affect its future course in society. Jurnal Civics: Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan is scholarly refereed research journal, which aims to promote scientific, socio-economic politics and policy perspectives of citizenship studies, to disseminate the research articles for further research, reference and teaching purposes by the students, researchers, academics to addresses the growing need for professionals, academician and policymakers in society, who can apply best management practices drawn from various inter-disciplines, which may create sustainable future.

SCOPE

Jurnal Civics: Media Kajian Kewarganegaraan delves into the discourse and practice of citizenship studies in diverse contexts. This journal focuses on the dimensions and perspectives of cultural diversity, gender equality and social justice, education and learning citizenship (civic education), politics of citizenship, morals, political education and literacy, law of citizen awareness, and ideology of national and global scope.

The topic of the published articles must belong to at least one of the following scopes:

  1. Citizenship studies: is a multidisciplinary about political citizenship; foundations of rights; economic citizenship; social citizenship; history of citizenship; liberal citizenship; republican citizenship; multicultural citizenship; communitarian citizenship; cultural citizenship; multicultural citizenship; religion and politics: the elementary forms of citizenship; towards post-national and denationalized citizenship; ecological citizenship; city, democracy and citizenship; cosmopolitan citizenship, and global citizenship
  2. Civic education; democracy; governance; civic responsibilities; civic skills; civic knowledge; learning in civic education
  3. Values education: ethical values, honesty, integrity, and respect; social responsibility; understanding civic duties; community involvement, and global citizenship; emotional intelligence, developing skills like empathy, self-regulation, and interpersonal communication;  cultural awareness: promoting appreciation for diversity and inclusion; critical thinking: encouraging reflection on personal values and the ability to evaluate different perspectives.
  4. Political Education and Law awareness: human rights awareness; political systems and theories; constitutional law; social justice and equity; public policy and governance; media literacy and information awareness; global politics and law; youth engagement and activism; ethics in politics and law
  5. Ideological Perspective; political ideologies; the role of identity (race, gender, religion) in forming ideological views; ideologies in international relations; social media on ideological discourse and polarisation; nation ideology.

TYPES OF ARTICLE

The journal welcomes submissions of paper covering Empirical Research (Research Article) Systematic Literature Review (SLR), and Meta-Analysis.
