Abstract

practices of citizenship or civic education used in Indonesia after the demise of the New Order regime. It argues that the use of the terms has been rather haphazard because they have been less discussed and contested in academic circles. As a result, it was rather confusing when the Indonesian government intended to re-introduce Pancasila Education recently. This paper suggests that consistent and systematic use of such terms will enable us to locate Pancasila more proportionately in the "map" of Indonesia's Citizenship Education (Pendidikan Kewarganegaraan, PKn).
